Our vision

Mission statement

The University serves its multicultural community by preparing global citizens for life-long learning in a diverse and changing world. The University maintains its ability to pursue its Mission through a continual process of introspection, analysis, integration, innovation and improvement.

Defining engagement

Consistent with USQ’s mission, engagement is scholarship characterised by two-way relationships in which the University develops partnerships with its communities to yield mutually beneficial outcomes in teaching, learning or research.

Who are USQ’s communities?

USQ’s communities are regional and global and include students, staff, Alumni, businesses, industries, government, non-government and professional organisations, schools, community groups, and multicultural communities.

Why do we engage?

Partnering with our communities enables the University to:

  • respond to the needs of business, industry, government and the wider community
  • provide teaching, learning and research that contributes to the economic, social, cultural and sustainable development of the region
  • enhance student learning through courses that are relevant and through opportunities for work-integrated learning
  • meet the University’s civic responsibilities
  • foster a sense of community ownership of the University.
