AusStats
Australian Bureau of Statistics. In addition to the freely available information on the ABS web site, AusStats provides access to a vast amount of data - including tens of thousands of tables. All this information is linked together to provide easy one stop access to the ABS statistical information on the Web site. (Free access to USQ students and staff - students will need their USQConnect ID and password).

International Data Base (IDB)
International demographic and socio-economic statistics for all countries of the world.

NationMaster
"A massive central data source and a handy way to graphically compare nations." (Australia ranks as the 17th richest country and the 27th most axed).Also has in-depth profiles of individual countries and links to encyclopedia articles. Well worth a visit.

Comprehensive metasite from the University of Auckland Library. Directory of free official statistics which can be searched by country, region or topic

Economic Indicators on the Internet
Another excellent publication from the Commonwealth Parliamentary Library. Has descriptions with links and also provides further information about the timing and content of the indicators mentioned (as well as others that are not available on the Internet).

Economics Queensland - Office of Economic and Statistical Research
Queensland Treasury site. Good Queensland regional statistics.

Monthly Economic and Social Indicators
Graphs and tables from the Parliamentary Library

VCE Economics
An excellent site - very content rich. Looks at both Australia and overseas with an extensive statistics section which has time-series.

There is also free data on the World Bank, IMF and Reserve Bank of Australia websites
