Databases for Sciences

Databases allow to to search for journal articles online. The Library subscribes to a number of databases across all disciplines taught at USQ, including several key Science databases. To select the database you require go to the Access all Databases link on the library homepage.

Types of Databases

It is important to note that there are two types of database available via the USQ Library:

Full Text- these allow you to download complete journal articles via the database.

Citation- these list only the 'citation' details of relevant journal articles, from which you would check the Library's holdings to obtain the relevant article.

All the Library's databases are searchable, and provide you with several options for formulating a search. As with the Library's catalogue, make sure you have a clear understanding of what it is you require, and attempt to identify clearly the keywords you will use to retrieve resources by.
