Library Classes

The Library helps to develop students' research skills by running regular information literacy classes. Each semester the Library gives classes in how to use the catalogue and how to find journal articles. These are an excellent starting point for all students to find out what information resources are available and how to access them.

Subject-specific Classes

Faculty Librarians also run specialised research classes for courses, to develop students' research skills in specific subject areas. If you are interested in organising such a class for your course, please contact Kaye Cumming (or Sandra Cochrane for Mathematics and Computing).

Online tutorials

For those students who are unable to attend classes, the Library has developed some on-line guides to help you.  To access these guides, look und the banner entitled Help on the Library homepage. eHelp is a short on-line tutorial that will equip  you with a variety of  research skills,  while PostGrad Toolbox has been created to support those who are studying for higher degrees.
